AUTOMATED CASTING FOR ORTHOTICS
Casting your patients for orthotics has never been quicker, easier or
more accurate. The Bergmann Model 20001 is the only optical system
that has the capability to consistently fabricate accurate fitting custom
orthotic devices. We have achieved this by viewing the foot from
multiple angles. We call this stereo imaging. It is the only viewing technique
that captures the amount of data
needed to accurately duplicate the foot contours, even if the foot is not exactly
aligned to the optimal viewing
position of the scanner. We developed this technique so that it would be easy to
align the foot to the scanner
while you are holding the foot in the neutral position. Also, our system's
software gives you the ability to
view your patient's foot on the computer monitor, and has the software capability to
check for the neutral
position and overall image data acquisition. Its transparent use allows you to evaluate
the image much the
same as you would a manual plaster cast. Our scanner can be used to
cast your patient using all three casting
positions. These features are unique to our system and are the reasons the Model
2001 has been acclaimed
hands down as the best automated method for casting your patients for
orthotics.
ENHANCING YOUR PRACTICE
In addition to casting for orthotics, the Model 2001 Scanning System, along with its
software, will provide you
with new evaluation and diagnostic methods. Some methods will improve on your
present examination
techniques, while others are completely new additions. For patient education we have
developed a graphic
interface that actually uses the three-dimensional images of
your patient's feet.
These three-dimensional images are easy for the patient to
understand. They illustrate his/her condition and how it can be
treated. Many of these software additions have been added
over the years at the request of medical practitioners using our
systems. We are grateful for their input, and are glad to share these advances with
everyone as they are
developed. It is truly a dynamic process.
